Heading home!

It has been a wonderful week and we are ready to bring our little man with us to his new home.  His real personality is starting to come out, as we see him interact with hotel staff and guests around us.  He is a very happy boy even when waking from naps.  We are packed, fed, napped and will be heading to the airport in about an hour to get checked in and ready for our flight.  Please pray with us that Mason travels well, that flights are safe and connections smooth.  We so look forward to seeing family and friends when we are state state side.  Love to all. And then there were THREE !!

Just wanted to share a quick photo from our trip to HH today to get our little boy. He is everything that we prayed for, dreamed of, hoped for, and more. He is napping right now after falling asleep in the van on the way back to the hotel. Please pray for him as he transitions away from those he has known and into our lives.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow!! The day that we have waited for and prayed over for the last year. The day that we will add to our family and be the practicing parents we have wanted to be for so long. It is surreal to think that it is finally here and to know that we have been in the same city, about a mile away, from our son for the last day and half. While we have enjoyed the time resting and recovering from the travels, it will be better to be on our way to Hannah's Hope where we will finally be able to pick up our sweat little boy, hold him close and tell him how much he is loved, and how we have waited for this day. We pray that God will give us the strength and wisdom to care for him and raise him to be the man of God that we know he will be. We will do our best to post tomarrow once we have him in our arms. D

WE MADE IT!!

Thannks for all that prayed today as we RUSHED to denver form Garden city to make our flight after a cancelation. WE made it to Ethiopia and are in the same city as our little boy. Excitement doesn't begin to describe how we feel. Will post more when we can if we can get our laptop to connect at hotel. Again thanks for praying with us today. D

In Detroit

Hi, everyone, this is Tara's mom uapdating their blog---I hope.

Tara & Dan made their flight in Denver after driving from Garden City. They arrived @ their gate as people were loading the plane -less than 5 minutes to spare. They are now in Detroit getting ready to go to Amsterdam & on to Addis Ababa. They are supposed to arrive late tomorrow nite --Ethiopia time.

They said to tell everyone thanks for all their prayers & the encouragement with this part of their journey to gettheir little guy.

I will update, when I hear anything else..... mom

In the morning...

In the morning we will be getting up very early. Probably one of the only timew in our life it will be an easy thing to do! We will drive to our tiny little airport, get on a tiny little plane. And then a few more planes (much bigger this time) and head to a country far, far away. Where we have never been or even imagined we would go, and wait to meet our little man.
We are leaving our house, cat, and dog in very capable hands. We have the bags packed (mostly, still) and are trying to cross all the last little things off the list! Dan is still working (at 9:00) and should be off in about 1/2 an hour. I got home about 15 minutes ago! It looks to be a short night.
We ask for prayers for safe journeys, metting ALL connections, and just purely enjoyable travel. We will do our best to update from Addis, but I am not promising anything.

For those who want to know, there will be two airport meetings of our little man. The first will be on Januray 29 in Denver, CO. We will be changing flights and actually have to re-check luggage. We have a decent layover and numerous family and friends who would like to meet our little guy. For you, our flight info is: KLM (operated by Northwest Airlines) Flight # 6489 from Minneapolis to Denver arriving at 3:41 pm.

For those who are wanting to meet us in lovely Garden City, our flight info is easy: on Friday, Jan. 29, the 9:40 flight. Not sure the flight number or anything off hand, but you don't really need that when you are flying into GC!

We can't wait to be home with our man and introduce him to everyone here personally and in blogland! So long!
