Going to Wichita to get Fingerprinted!
On Tuesday afternoon August 4th, Dan and I headed on a little road trip to Wichita, KS to go to this lovely building downtown. We went for fingerprinting for our I-600A app. at USCIS on Wednesday August 5th. This basically is the fingerprinting/background check that has to be done for our immigration approval to bring a child into the country as ours.
We're finished! It was dead in there. Walked right through the security, in the door, got fingerprinted and back on the road within 20 minutes! (Sometimes, I love Kansas - actually, most of the time I do, it just has some great perks!)
On the road trip - if you take highway 54, in southern Kansas, you may go through Mullinville. Outside of town there is a guy who makes these sculptures. They line the highway for almost a mile. It's crazy.
This is looking down one way -
And then down the other -
here is one fun one I got a picture of...
A bit down the road, you will run into this lovely little town - Greensburg Kansas. If you at all follow news or weather, you may have heard about the huge tornado that wiped out the entire town about 2 years ago! Here are some pictures form online. But now they are rebuilding and there is some of the destroyed stuff, but lots of new going up. They are still using some of the army tents and trailers for medical stuff and what not. It's kind of interesting to see, so enjoy!

Rhonda has pictures from the floor of our Greensburg house with the tiles that she picked out for the kitchen. Nothing else of the house remained.
